Irresistible marble bars for potlucks - guaranteed to disappear fast!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and generously grease a 13x9-inch pan.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, 1/3 cup peanut butter, and an egg on medium speed until smooth. Add flour, oats, baking soda, and salt, and mix until combined. Transfer mixture to a pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake until golden brown, usually around 17 to 22 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack for about 15 minutes.
  • Blend all Peanut Butter Frosting ingredients until velvety and easy to spread, saving 1/3 cup. Combine cocoa and 1 tablespoon milk into the rest of the frosting until glossy. Add more milk as needed until it reaches the desired spreadable consistency.
  • Spread the cooled bars with cocoa frosting and then drop teaspoonfuls of Peanut Butter Frosting on top. Swirl the two frostings together for a marbled design. Cut into squares by slicing into 8 rows by 6 rows.
