Create a festive food gift with a jar filled with Christmas delights, adorned with a tag and ribbon.
Ingredients:
  • 110g plain flour
  • 1.00 gm baking powder
  • 0.63 gm bicarbonate of soda
  • 0.60 gm salt
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 65g rolled oats
  • 100g craisins (dried cranberries), see variation
  • 130g white chocolate chips
  • 125g butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, and salt in a bowl. Layer the flour mixture, brown sugar, caster sugar, oats, craisins, and chocolate chips in a 1L (4-cup) glass jar. Seal the jar and give as a gift.
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 190C and line 2 baking trays with baking paper. 2. Transfer the contents of the jar into a large bowl and mix in the butter, egg, and vanilla until thoroughly combined. 3. Shape tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture into balls, spacing them about 5cm apart on the prepared baking trays. 4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, rotating the trays halfway through, until the edges are lightly golden brown. 5. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool before serving.
