Easily make delicious homemade bread with this simple recipe!
Ingredients:
  • Melted butter, to grease
  • 500g bakers plain flour
  • 4.80 gm salt
  • 5.00 gm caster sugar
  • 3 tsp dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp bread improver (Lowan brand)
  • 300ml lukewarm water
  • 100ml lukewarm milk
  • Vegetable oil, to grease
  • 0.75 gm sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp poppy seeds
  • 20.00 gm warm water
  • 4.50 gm sugar
Instructions:
  • Lightly brush a baking tray with some melted butter to grease it.
  • Combine flour, salt, sugar, yeast, and bread improver in a large mixing bowl. Create a well in the center, pour in water and milk, then mix by hand until a moist, stiff dough forms. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead until fully combined.
  • Transfer the dough to a spacious, spotless bowl. Lightly oil a piece of plastic wrap and use it to cover the bowl. Allow the dough to rest in a cozy, draft-free area for 40 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until smooth with no air bubbles. Swiftly split the dough into 8 equal parts. Take 1 portion and divide it into 3 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 20cm-long sausage shape. Braid the 3 pieces together and neatly tuck the ends under to form a plait. Arrange the plait at the center of the greased baking tray, shaping it into a pinwheel. Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions to create 7 more plaited pinwheels, placing them closely around the central one as they are completed.
  • Allow the tray to rest in a cozy, draft-free spot for 35 minutes or until it doubles in size. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 210°C.
  • Combine the egg, water, and sugar in a small bowl, then whisk together until smooth.
  • Coat rolls with glaze, sprinkle sesame and poppy seeds, then bake until golden and tap base to ensure a hollow sound. Cool on wire rack after baking.
