Generational Swedish waffle recipe: Crispy outside, tender inside.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 1.25 cups whole milk
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract to the flour mixture and stir. Gradually mix in the milk and butter in 3 to 4 additions until the batter is smooth.
  • Whip egg whites until soft peaks form. When you lift your beater or whisk, they should hold soft mounds. Carefully fold the egg whites into the batter and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the waffle iron following the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Place the batter into the waffle iron and follow the instructions from the manufacturer for cooking.
