Versatile energy bars perfect for on-the-go snacking or a quick boost anytime.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups Golden Grahams™ cereal
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Crush the cereal. In a large bowl, combine sugars, butter, vanilla, and eggs. Mix in flour, crushed cereal, 3/4 cup oats, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Fold in 3/4 cup peanuts and 2/3 cup chocolate chips.
  • Evenly distribute mixture in an ungreased 13x9x2 inch rectangular pan. Top with the remaining 1/4 cup peanuts, 1/3 cup chocolate chips, and 2 tablespoons oats.
  • Bake until perfectly golden for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool for an hour until completely set. Cut into 24 bars by slicing into 6 rows by 4 rows.
