Upgrade store-bought chicken meatballs and boxed mac 'n' cheese with bold flavors for a quick and delicious dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 (7.25 ounce) box macaroni and cheese mix (such as KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup margarine, cut up
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped onions
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1lb (16oz) pre-cooked chicken meatballs, thawed
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup barbeque sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Bring water to a rolling boil in a saucepan. Cook macaroni until tender, about 7 to 8 minutes. Drain. Add margarine, milk, and cheese sauce packet. Let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  • Combine prepared mac and cheese with Cheddar cheese, onions, jalapeno, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until fully mixed. Gently fold in meatballs. Transfer the macaroni mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs on top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until beautifully golden for about 20 minutes, then drizzle with delicious barbecue sauce before serving.
