25-minute BBQ chicken wraps with Asian veggies for a fast and delicious dinner option.
Ingredients:
  • 62.50 ml char sui sauce
  • 24.40 gm oyster sauce
  • 2cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, finely grated
  • 62.50 ml rice wine vinegar
  • 6 chicken thigh fillets
  • 1 carrot
  • 500.00 ml shredded Chinese cabbage (wombok)
  • 1 Lebanese cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 20.00 ml sesame oil
  • 4 large wholegrain wraps
  • 1 long red chilli, thinly sliced
  • 82.50 ml fresh coriander sprigs
  • Toasted sesame seeds, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix together char sui, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, and 1 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar. Set aside half of the mixture. Add chicken to the bowl with the remaining mixture and toss until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes if possible.
  • Preheat a barbecue grill or chargrill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the chicken, basting it with the marinade, for 3 to 4 minutes per side until it is fully cooked. Place the cooked chicken on a cutting board and slice thinly.
  • Peel the carrot into long, thin strips using a julienne peeler. Combine the carrot, cabbage, cucumber, onion, oil, and remaining vinegar in a bowl. Toss thoroughly. Microwave the wraps on HIGH for 30 seconds until warm. Lay the wraps flat, add cabbage salad and chicken slices on top. Sprinkle with chili, coriander, and toasted sesame seeds. Roll up the wraps to enclose the filling and enjoy.
