30-minute flavorful beef skillet – a saucy dinner delight!
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter
  • 4 beef tenderloin steaks, 1 1/2 inches thick (about 1 3/4 lb)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced baby portabella mushrooms (about 3.5 oz)
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine or nonalcoholic wine
Instructions:
  • In a 10-inch skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Season beef steaks with salt and pepper. Sear beef in butter for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping once, until richly browned. Lower heat to low, cover, and continue cooking for another 6 to 8 minutes (beef will be nearly cooked and will finish cooking while resting). Transfer beef to a platter and cover to retain warmth.
  • Turn up the heat to medium. Put in the rest of the butter into the skillet. Toss in the mushrooms and garlic. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender. Pour in the wine. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until it's reduced by about one-third and becomes slightly thick. Take it off the heat.
  • Gradually whisk in the remaining butter, one tablespoon at a time, until melted into the sauce. Serve the mushrooms and sauce over the beef.
