Easy slow-simmered cube steak with tender meat and flavorful gravy from pan drippings.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (4 ounce) cube steaks
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water, or as needed
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your ingredients.
  • Season both sides of the cube steaks with a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper. Coat the steaks in flour by pressing them into a shallow bowl and shaking off any extra flour.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil until shimmering. Sear steaks until golden brown on each side, approximately 3 minutes per side.
  • Add just enough water to cover the steaks in the skillet.
  • Combine the beef bouillon and salt, then bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for about 2 hours until the meat is very tender.
