Delicious sugar cookies with a touch of vanilla and almond, ideal for Valentine's Day cutouts.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
  • Combine the butter, sugar, egg, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract in a large bowl, mixing until creamy.
  • Incorporate the flour and baking powder.
  • Chill in the refrigerator until set, approximately 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Separate the dough into three equal parts. Roll out each piece on a lightly floured surface until 1/4-inch thick.
  • Use a floured cookie cutter to shape the cookies.
  • Place cookies on a baking sheet without greasing, leaving a 1-inch space between each.
  • Bake the cookies until they turn a light golden color, which should take about 6 to 9 minutes.
  • Cool the cookies on a wire rack until completely cooled.
