Ultimate sausage gravy recipe - perfect for topping fluffy biscuits for a hearty breakfast at home.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package maple flavored sausage
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large, deep skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it apart until evenly browned.
  • Transfer the sausage out of the pan using a slotted spoon while keeping the flavorful drippings. Stir in butter until melted. Add flour and stir until a smooth mixture forms. Lower the heat to medium and cook until lightly browned. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and simmer over reduced heat for 12 to 15 minutes. If the gravy thickens too much, simply mix in a bit more milk.
