Elevate your greens with a smoky twist, no ham hocks needed. Customize with your favorite greens, adjusting cook time as needed.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 pounds collard greens - rinsed, trimmed and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, heat oil and saute onion and garlic until translucent. Add chopped collard greens, cover with water, stir in brown sugar, molasses, and liquid smoke. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until greens are tender.
