Slow cooker makes juicy, flavorful Italian braciole with ease.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (26 ounce) jars marinara sauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.5 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 (1 1/2-pound) flank steak, pounded to 1/4 inch
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 5 slices bacon
  • 1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend
Instructions:
  • Add the marinara sauce to the slow cooker and set it to High to heat up.
  • In a small bowl, mix eggs and bread crumbs. Season both sides of flank steak with salt and pepper. Spread bread crumb mixture over one side of the steak, ensuring a 1-inch border. Add bacon slices on top, followed by shredded cheese. Roll the steak tightly into a log from one long side. Secure the log in 4 or 5 spots using string or toothpicks.
  • In a heavy skillet, heat oil. Brown prepared flank steak log on all sides in the hot oil for about 10 minutes. Transfer the steak to the warm sauce in the slow cooker and ensure it's fully covered with sauce.
  • Set slow cooker to Low heat and let the steak cook until very tender, for 6 to 8 hours. Remember to take out the string/toothpicks before slicing, then serve with marinara sauce.
