Bob's Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade

Versatile Japanese rice wine and soy sauce sauce, perfect for marinating, cooking, or dipping.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup mirin
  • 0.5 cup sake
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ginger puree
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch, or as desired
  • 2 teaspoons water
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and ginger puree and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. For a marinade, let it cool. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch and water, stir into the mixture, and simmer until thickened, about 2 minutes.
