Transform pork chops with a delectable apple, honey, and whiskey glaze or elevate baked ham with the same irresistible glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup whiskey (such as Jack Daniel's®)
  • 3 tablespoons whiskey (such as Jack Daniel's®)
  • 4 thick center-cut pork chops
Instructions:
  • Combine apple cider, honey, cider vinegar, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer and stir occasionally until the mixture reduces to 2/3 cup, approximately 20 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, gently simmer 1/3 cup of whiskey over medium-low heat until the steam no longer smells of alcohol, approximately 10 minutes. Stir the whiskey into the apple cider mixture. Cook the mixture down to 1/2 cup to create a delicious apple cider glaze. Let it cool before using.
  • Incorporate 3 tablespoons of rich whiskey into the apple cider glaze.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lay the pork chops in a baking dish and generously brush them with the flavorful apple cider glaze.
  • Place the chops in the oven and baste them frequently with the glaze while baking until tender, approximately 1 hour. Optionally, heat the remaining glaze in a saucepan until it boils, then pour it over the chops before serving.
