Total Time:
Childhood nostalgia in every bite with this simple blackberry pie recipe. Flour, cinnamon, and sugar let the luscious berries shine.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 0.66670000553131 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups fresh blackberries
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the oil and water. Stir until well combined.
  • Divide the dough into two portions, using 3/4 for one ball and 1/4 for the other. Cover the larger ball with wax paper to prevent sticking and roll it out into a single large piece. Fit the dough into an 8-inch pie pan. Roll out the smaller ball of dough and keep it separate for later use.
  • First, combine sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Then, place the berries in a large bowl and sprinkle the sugar mixture over them. Gently toss to coat. Transfer the filling into the prepared pie pan lined with dough. Top with the crust, seal the edges, and cut steam vents on top. Optionally, cover the crust edges with foil to avoid burning.
  • Bake until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling, about 30 to 45 minutes.
