Brazilian-style White Rice: Fry rice with onion and garlic, use water or broth, cook until loose not sticky. Mom's secret recipe passed down!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups hot water
Instructions:
  • Rinse the rice in a colander under cold water; set aside.
  • - Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Saute onion for one minute. Add garlic, cook until golden brown. Stir in rice and salt until rice lightly browns. Pour hot water over, stir. Simmer covered on low heat for 20-25 minutes until water is absorbed.
