Chocolaty dipped classic sugary candy - a sweet delight revamped.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 2 (12 ounce) bags semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Prepare a disposable 8x8 inch baking pan by greasing it. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and vinegar in a heavy saucepan, stirring until the sugar is just incorporated and the mixture resembles dirty sand.
  • 1. Heat a pan over gentle heat. Reach 307 degrees F on a candy thermometer, which should take around 15 minutes. Remove from heat and delicately fold in baking soda. Transfer the candy into the prepared pan and allow it to cool in a spot without any drafts.
  • Crush cooled candy into bite-size pieces. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler, then dip candy pieces in chocolate to coat. Allow chocolate to harden before storing candy in an airtight container.
