Slow cooker beef and cabbage soup with kidney beans, tomato sauce, and spices. Crowd-pleasing and tasty leftovers.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 large onion, chopped
  • 5 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans red kidney beans, drained
  • 24 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Assemble all the ingredients.
  • In a large stockpot over medium-high heat, sauté ground beef and onion until beef is nicely browned, onion is translucent, and mixture is crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Don't forget to drain excess fat before proceeding.
  • Pour the beef mixture into a slow cooker, then add cabbage, kidney beans, tomato sauce, water, bouillon, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together well.
  • Cook gently for 6 to 8 hours on Low or 4 hours on High, stirring occasionally.
