Savory holiday appetizer: Cheesy sausage meatballs.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package bulk mild pork sausage
  • 1 (16 ounce) package bulk hot pork sausage
  • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Combine mild and hot sausage in a large bowl until thoroughly mixed.
  • Incorporate the Cheddar cheese into the sausage mixture until well combined.
  • Fold in biscuit baking mix into the savory sausage mixture gradually, about 1/2 cup at a time, ensuring the mix is thoroughly moistened.
  • Shape the meat mixture into perfectly sized 1 1/4- to 1 1/2-inch balls.
  • Place the meatballs evenly on the baking sheet.
  • Roast in the oven until meatballs are cooked through and cheese is golden brown, approximately 20 minutes.
