Indulgent clam chowder with bacon, creamy half-and-half, clam juice, and fresh clams for a classic favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 (8 ounce) jars clam juice
  • 1 quart half-and-half cream
  • 4 cups minced clams
  • ground white pepper, to taste
Instructions:
  • Cook bacon, celery, and onion in a skillet over medium heat until onion is translucent. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Begin by melting butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk until bubbly to create a roux. Slowly pour in 1 jar of clam juice and whisk until smooth. Next, stir in the onion mixture and pour in the half-and-half while stirring constantly. Add the clams, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper before serving.
