Try this quick and delicious cheat's version of Oyakodon using Uncle Ben's® - a comforting Japanese dish of chicken and egg rice in a bowl.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tsp sesame oil
  • 62.50 ml tamari
  • 62.50 ml mirin
  • 800g chicken thigh fillets, chopped into 3cm pieces
  • 4 x 125g Uncle Ben’s® Egg Fried Rice Cups
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced diagonally
  • 250.00 ml bean sprouts, trimmed
  • 6.00 gm MasterFoodsⓇ Sesame Seeds, toasted
  • 1 long red chilli, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of oil with garlic, tamari, and mirin. Add chicken and toss until coated. Season with pepper to taste.
  • Preheat a spacious non-stick pan over medium heat and add the chicken. Stir occasionally and cook for about 12 minutes until the chicken turns golden and is fully cooked.
  • While the rice is cooking according to the packet instructions, use a fork to fluff it.
  • Place the chicken into a heatproof bowl and cover to keep it warm. Wipe the pan clean and then heat the remaining sesame oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and cook for 2 minutes or until the whites are just set.
  • Assemble rice, egg, chicken, onion, and bean sprouts in individual serving bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds and chili. Enjoy!
