Cheat’s strawberry creme brûlée recipe

Quick and decadent desserts made with store-bought double thick custard, ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 900g tub double thick vanilla custard
  • 125g strawberries, hulled, thinly sliced
  • 155g (3/4 cup) caster sugar
  • 2 tsp finely chopped pistachios
Instructions:
  • Ladle the creamy custard evenly into four heatproof dishes that hold 1 cup (250ml) each. Garnish generously with fresh, vibrant strawberries.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and 2 tbsp of water. Let it cook undisturbed until sugar dissolves, about 1-2 minutes. Continue cooking until it turns dark golden, about 7-8 minutes. Remove from heat and let bubbles settle.
  • Drizzle the toffee over the strawberries and sprinkle with pistachios. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
