Indulge in a rich and creamy cheese fondue with a blend of Jalsberg, Emmenthaler, and Gruyere cheeses, simmered in wine and spices. Perfect for dipping bread and veggies.
Instructions:
  • Coat the shredded cheese with cornstarch: Combine the grated cheese and cornstarch in a sealed plastic bag, then shake to evenly cover the cheese. Set aside.
  • Infuse the pot with fragrant garlic, then introduce the wine and lemon juice. Let it gently simmer on medium heat.
  • Gradually incorporate the cheese into the wine while stirring in a zig-zag motion until smooth and creamy. Avoid boiling.
  • Stir in the kirsch, mustard, and nutmeg once the mixture is smooth.
  • Keep it warm and cozy: Place the cheese in a fondue serving pot over a low flame to keep it warm. For thin-bottomed pots, a lit candle will work, while for thick-bottomed pots, a small Sterno can be used.
  • Surround the fondue pot with assorted dipping foods. Use fondue forks or small forks to spear the foods, dip them in the cheese, and enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment and rate the recipe below!
