Make Chef John's versatile steak or BBQ dry rub at home and save money!
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried, ground rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme, ground
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine salt, garlic powder, pepper, paprika, cumin, rosemary, thyme, and brown sugar in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the all-purpose steak rub, excluding the brown sugar.
  • Keep in a sealed container until ready to use.
