Indulgent pecan pie upgraded with decadent chocolate chips for a perfect holiday treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted and hot
  • 1.5 cups roughly chopped pecans
  • 0.333 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) while laying out a foil-lined baking sheet on the lower rack.
  • Transfer the dough into a 9-inch pie pan and crimp the edges to your liking.
  • In a large bowl, vigorously whisk eggs until pale and frothy for about 2 minutes. Add milk and vanilla, then mix in brown sugar, white sugar, and flour until well combined. Pour in melted butter and whisk until fully incorporated. Finally, fold in pecans.
  • Evenly layer the chocolate chips on the pie crust. Pour the filling delicately over them and lightly tap the pie pan to help the filling settle evenly.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake in the center until the crust turns golden brown, and the filling sets without any jiggle, for an additional 30 to 35 minutes after reducing the heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Take out of the oven and allow to cool to room temperature for approximately 2 hours. If preferred, refrigerate after cooling and serve chilled.
