Foolproof recipe for light, fluffy, lump-free homemade mashed potatoes every time.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut in half lengthwise
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
  • 0.25 cup butter
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, add potatoes and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the potatoes are tender, for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • After draining the potatoes, place them back in the pot. Increase the heat to high and let the potatoes dry for approximately 30 seconds. Then, turn off the heat.
  • Mash potatoes until smooth and fluffy in the pot. Add milk and butter, then whisk in salt and black pepper for 15 seconds until evenly combined.
