Cherry berry galette with a delicious almond twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 crust from 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on box
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups frozen DOLE® Cherry Berry Blend (from two 12-oz packages)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar or coarse sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Place a sheet of cooking parchment paper on a cookie sheet and gently unroll the pie crust on top.
  • In a mini food processor or blender, combine almonds and powdered sugar. Pulse until almonds are finely chopped.
  • In a medium bowl, combine almond mixture, cherry berry blend, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, cornstarch, and almond extract until fully mixed. Spoon the berry mixture evenly onto the crust, leaving a 1-inch border. Fold the crust over the filling, pleating as needed for a rustic look.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water until smooth. Gently brush this mixture onto the edges of the crust, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of turbinado sugar for a sweet and crunchy finish.
  • Bake until the crust turns a deep golden brown, which typically takes 30 to 35 minutes. Allow the dish to cool for 30 minutes before serving warm.
