Savory chicken stew with carrots, potatoes, and optional dumplings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 (2 to 3 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 5 carrots, chopped
  • 6 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 teaspoons dried savory
  • salt to taste
Instructions:
  • In a cooking pot, melt the butter and use it to brown the chicken along with chopped onions. Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Add the carrots, potatoes, and savory to the pot. Continue simmering until the vegetables are tender. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
