Chocolate and hazelnut truffles

Indulgent chocolate truffles- a perfect homemade gift or treat for yourself.
Ingredients:
  • 75g (1/2 cup) whole hazelnuts
  • 1 x 400g pkt bought chocolate cake (Mills & Ware's brand), icing removed, crumbled
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) Frangelico liqueur
  • 51.60 gm sweetened condensed milk
  • 20.00 gm cocoa powder
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. 2. Spread hazelnuts on a baking tray and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes until fragrant. 3. Transfer the hazelnuts to a clean tea towel and rub to remove the skins, then coarsely chop. 4. In a bowl, mix the chopped hazelnuts with cake crumbs, liqueur, and condensed milk until well combined.
  • Prepare a baking tray with non-stick baking paper. Spread cocoa on a plate. Shape 2 teaspoons of cake mixture into a ball using your hands. Roll the ball in cocoa to cover it completely. Place it on the tray. Repeat with the rest of the cake mixture and cocoa. Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes until firm.
