Upgrade your French toast with a sweet caramel twist using molasses in the batter. Perfect for repurposing leftover Challah from Shabbat into a tasty Saturday morning treat.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pinch ground ginger
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon, or more to taste
  • 12 thick slices challah bread
  • 0.25 cup butter
Instructions:
  • Combine the eggs, molasses, cream, vanilla, ginger, and cinnamon in a bowl and mix until smooth. Submerge the challah slices in the batter until fully coated.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt half of the butter. Add half of the challah slices and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining butter and challah slices.
