Ingredients:
  • 170g plain flour
  • Pinch salt
  • Pinch cayenne pepper, or normal pepper
  • 85g butter, or margarine
  • 120g grated tasty cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 40.00 gm water
Instructions:
  • Sift flour, salt, and pepper, then work in the butter. Mix in the cheeses until well combined using a knife.
  • Combine the yolk with water and lightly beat. Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix together with a knife. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 410F.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness (between 4mm and 8mm). Cut into straws and arrange on a baking sheet without greasing.
  • Bake in the oven for precisely 7 minutes, keeping a close eye on them to prevent over-cooking. Allow to cool on the baking tray.
