Impressive and easy crowd-pleasing cake.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
  • 1.25 cups water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 cup chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 0.75 cup shortening
  • 2 egg whites
  • 12 chocolate sandwich cookies
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you generously grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Combine cake mix, water, oil, and 3 egg whites in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed for 2 minutes. Carefully fold in crushed cookies. Transfer the batter into the prepared pans.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to racks to cool completely.
  • Prepare the frosting by mixing 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, shortening, vanilla, and 2 egg whites in a small bowl until smooth. Gradually add the rest of the confectioners' sugar until creamy. Use the frosting to frost the cake and top it with the remaining cookies for decoration.
