Sesame-crusted fried feta cheese with a honey drizzle: A divine Greek appetizer that balances sweet and salty flavors, guaranteed to wow your guests!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) slice feta cheese
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.5 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Cut feta into four substantial pieces and chill in the freezer for 10 minutes to maintain its form during preparation.
  • Place a fresh egg, flour, and sesame seeds in individual shallow dishes. Season the egg generously with freshly ground black pepper.
  • Fill a small skillet with oil until it reaches a depth of about 1/2-inch. Heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  • Thaw feta at room temperature. Dip each finger in egg, then flour, egg again, and coat with sesame seeds. Make sure all sides are well covered. Fry breaded fingers in hot oil.
  • Fry until beautifully golden, approximately 2 minutes on each side. Then, transfer to a paper towel to briefly remove any excess oil.
  • Arrange the feta fingers on a serving plate and generously drizzle them with honey. Enjoy them right away while they are still hot.
