Crunchy whole wheat cereal, pretzels, and oats elevate chocolate butterscotch treats with added texture.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 2/3 cups small pretzel twists, coarsely crushed
  • 1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup Wheaties™ cereal or Country® Corn Flakes cereal, slightly crushed
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch-flavored chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer or a spoon to mix sugars, butter, oil, vanilla, and eggs until light and fluffy. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt, then stir in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Place spoonfuls of dough onto a cookie sheet without greasing it, making sure to leave about 2 inches of space between each mound.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown, then cool for 1 minute before transferring to a wire rack.
