Enhance your bolognese with flavorful mushrooms for a kid-friendly twist.
Ingredients:
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 250g brown mushrooms
  • 82.50 ml basil leaves
  • 250g No Added Hormones 4 Star Beef Mince
  • 500g jar tomato pasta sauce
  • 300g fusilli pasta
Instructions:
  • In a food processor, pulse garlic until coarsely chopped, then add mushrooms and basil and pulse until finely chopped. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl and stir until well combined.
  • 1. Preheat a large heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the mince mixture and cook for 5 minutes, stirring to break up any lumps until cooked through. 2. Stir in pasta sauce and 1/2 cup (125ml) water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Cook the pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water until al dente as per packet instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup (60ml) of cooking liquid before draining.
  • Combine the pasta with the sauce in the pan, ensuring it is evenly coated. Add reserved cooking liquid as needed to achieve desired consistency. Season generously with pepper.
