Try using vegetable juice cocktail in biscuits for a unique, flavorful twist that results in tender and colorful pastries.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 0.125 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 1 cup tomato-vegetable juice cocktail
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and prepare a greased baking sheet.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Use a pastry cutter to incorporate shortening until mixture resembles crumbs. Gently mix in vegetable juice cocktail until moist. Transfer dough to a floured surface and lightly knead until it holds together. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut rounds with a biscuit cutter. Arrange biscuits on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven until golden and puffed, about 8 to 10 minutes.
