Thinly slice pork shoulder, marinate in sweet & spicy Korean-style sauce for tasty daeji bulgogi.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Korean barbeque sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Korean hot pepper paste
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger root
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 pounds boneless pork shoulder, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, barbeque sauce, hot pepper paste, sugar, ginger, red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, and black pepper in a small bowl and whisk until well blended.
  • In a large bowl, add the pork. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the pork and toss well to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • Heat up a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork, making sure to discard the marinade. Stir frequently and cook until the pork starts to brown, approximately 5 minutes. Add the onion and continue cooking until soft, around 10 minutes.
