Simplify and enhance the American beef goulash: Family-friendly one-pot classic.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 large yellow onions, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 3 cups water
  • 0.5 cup sofrito sauce (such as Goya®)
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2.5 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
Instructions:
  • In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown and crumble the beef for about 10 minutes. Drain excess grease. Add onion and garlic, and cook until onion is translucent, about 10 minutes.
  • Combine tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, sofrito, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, and bay leaves with the beef mixture. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered on low heat for approximately 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until flavors meld.
  • Add the macaroni to the beef mixture, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes until the pasta is tender and flavors are fully blended. Remove and discard the bay leaves before serving.
