Crunchy flaked cereal enhances kid-friendly French toast for fun snacking.
Ingredients:
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups Country® Corn Flakes cereal
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
  • Maple-flavored syrup, if desired
Instructions:
  • Cut each slice of bread into 3 strips, then arrange them neatly in a 13x9x2 inch rectangular baking dish.
  • Whisk eggs and milk together until foamy in a medium bowl. Pour the mixture over the bread and flip the bread using a spatula to coat the other side.
  • Put the cereal in a resealable plastic bag and crush it with a rolling pin or saucepan. Transfer the crushed cereal to a pie plate or shallow dish.
  • Heat butter in a wide skillet over medium heat, swirling to coat the bottom evenly.
  • After soaking bread strips in egg mixture, coat them with crushed cereal, flipping them using a pancake turner to cover the other side evenly.
  • Cook the cereal-coated bread in butter for about 4 minutes until golden brown on the bottoms. Flip the bread over and continue cooking for another 4 minutes until golden brown. Serve with syrup.
