Decadent chocolate coconut bars with a crumbly graham cracker base.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1.5 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.5 cup almonds, chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, gently melt the butter until it becomes a silky pool. Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the sugar and graham cracker crumbs until they form a delightful paste. Spread this delicious mixture evenly across the base of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Let it bake in the preheated oven until it sets slightly, usually about 10 minutes.
  • Combine the coconut and condensed milk in a bowl, then spread over the baked crust. Bake for an additional 12 minutes. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over gently simmering water, stirring often and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to prevent burning. Mix in the almonds once the chocolate is melted and spread the mixture evenly over the cooled coconut layer. Let it cool until the chocolate hardens.
