Indulge in a delightful seafood platter with crispy fries - sure to please the whole family, especially the kids!
Ingredients:
  • 150.00 gm self-raising flour
  • 128.75 gm milk
  • 125.00 gm water
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 500g frozen chips
  • oil for deep-frying
  • 125.00 ml plain flour
  • 300g boneless fish fillets, cut into strips
  • 8 green prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 4 scallops, trimmed
  • 4 calamari rings
  • 300ml bottle Simply Seafood Tartare Sauce
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, gently sift the flour. Gradually whisk in the blend of milk, water, and yolk until the mixture is smooth and resembles pouring cream. Allow the batter to rest for 15 minutes.
  • Spread the chips evenly on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake as per package instructions.
  • Ensure the oil is hot enough by testing with a piece of bread that should sizzle immediately upon contact. Coat the seafood in flour bit by bit, then dip each piece into the batter, ensuring to remove any excess batter.
  • Fry fish fillets until golden and cooked through, about 1 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and keep warm. Proceed with remaining steps and serve with plenty of tartare sauce.
