Geneva's Ultimate Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Ingredients:
2tablespoons unsalted butter
2cups choppedonions
1.5 pounds fresh mushrooms, thickly sliced
4.5 teaspoons choppedfresh dill
1tablespoonHungarian sweet paprika
1tablespoonsoy sauce
2cups low-sodium chicken broth
1cupskim milk
0.5ripe tomato
0.5Hungarian wax pepper
1teaspoonsalt
groundblack pepper to taste
0.5 cuplight sour cream
Instructions:
In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Sauté onions until fragrant for about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms, cook until tender for about 5 minutes. Stir in dill, paprika, soy sauce, and chicken broth. Simmer covered on low heat for 15 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine milk and flour, then stir into soup. Add tomato and wax pepper halves. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in sour cream and continue to cook and stir until soup thickens, 5 to 10 minutes. Before serving, remove and discard tomato and wax pepper halves.
