Delicious Amish chocolate and cake pie that surprises with its unique flipping layers. Taste the magic!
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cup hot water
  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.75 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Using an electric mixer on medium speed, blend 1 cup sugar, cocoa powder, hot water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for about 3 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Transfer the batter into the pie shells.
  • Combine the flour and baking powder and set aside. Cream together sugar and butter. Add vanilla, then the eggs one at a time. Slowly mix in half of the milk and half of the flour until moistened. Add the remaining milk and flour. Spoon the batter on top of the chocolate batter, ensuring that the entire top of the cake is covered without any chocolate showing.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for around 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
