Irresistibly spiced gingersnap cookies with rich molasses and warm cinnamon.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Using an electric mixer, cream together butter and 1 cup sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Mix in egg until smooth, then incorporate molasses until well combined.
  • Combine and sieve flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt, and cloves in a separate bowl. Blend with the butter mixture until dough forms. Form the dough into 36 balls.
  • Pour the 1/2 cup of sugar into a wide, shallow bowl. Roll the dough balls in the sugar to coat them, and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in a hot oven until edges are crispy, 13 to 15 minutes.
