Ginny's hot cross bun air-fryer toastie

Cheesy hot cross buns inspired by family traditions, perfect for Easter leftovers. A delicious twist on a classic treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 hot cross bun
  • 1 teaspoon unsalted butter softened
  • 30 g of your favourite melty cheese, such as Cheddar, Red Leicester, Brie
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of your favourite condiment, such as piccalilli, Branston pickle, mango chutney
  • 2 cornichons or gherkins (optional)
  • a handful of mixed leaves to serve
Instructions:
  • Cut the hot cross bun in half, spread a light layer of butter inside. Top each half with grated or sliced cheese, add your favorite condiment and sliced pickles. Place the hot cross bun halves in the air fryer in a single layer. Cook at 180°C for 6 minutes until the cheese melts. Close the buns and serve with a side of seasonal green salad.
