Authentic Japanese fried rice recipe passed down through generations, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 0.5 head cabbage, cored and shredded
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 6 cups cooked white rice, cold
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce, or to taste
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can bean sprouts, drained
  • 1 (6 ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 green onions, chopped
Instructions:
  • Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until cooked evenly. Remove sausage and scramble the eggs in the same pan using the delicious grease left behind. Stir frequently until eggs are cooked through. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet or electric skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Stir fry cabbage and carrots until cabbage wilts. Add cold rice and stir fry until no clumps remain. Mix in sausage and pour in soy sauce. Stir in bean sprouts, peas, and eggs until well combined. Season with pepper, and mix in green onions before removing from heat. Adjust soy sauce to taste and serve.
