Scandinavian Goros Iron Cookies: A classic, shared recipe using a special tool for authentic results.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground cardamom
Instructions:
  • Combine eggs and sugar in a large bowl until fully mixed. Add cream and melted butter. In another bowl, sift together flour, cinnamon, and cardamom, then fold into the egg mixture. Chill dough for at least an hour.
  • Preheat goro iron and lightly grease it. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out circles to match the size of your goro iron using a paper pattern. Place the circles onto the heated iron, close, and cook until golden, turning once. Gently take them off the iron, and while still warm, cut into thirds.
