Time-honored family recipe passed down for generations. Hearty meal perfect with cornbread. Kid-friendly alternative to spicy chili.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 0.5 large green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 0.125 cup brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Bring a pot of perfectly salted water to a lively boil. Add pasta and cook until perfectly al dente, which should take around 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the pasta.
  • Simmer celery and green pepper in a small saucepan with enough water until tender; then drain.
  • Heat a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Brown ground beef until cooked through. Add onion and cook until tender. Drain excess fat. Add celery and green pepper, then mix in kidney beans, condensed tomato soup, diced tomatoes, and brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper and stir in macaroni. Enjoy!
