Festive Christmas meatballs cooked in a sweet and savory sauce in the slow cooker. Simply irresistible!
Ingredients:
  • 3 pounds ground beef chuck
  • 1 (14 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 0.25 cup dry bread crumbs, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, divided
  • 1 (1 ounce) package onion soup mix
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup port wine
Instructions:
  • Combine ground chuck, creamy evaporated milk, crispy bread crumbs, 1 tablespoon of rich Worcestershire sauce, and savory soup mix in a bowl. Mix until thoroughly combined. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before using.
  • Position the oven rack 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the broiler.
  • Shape meat mixture into 36 small, flavorful meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Broil meatballs in the preheated oven for 2-3 minutes, until they are perfectly browned. Flip the meatballs and broil for an additional 2 minutes until the other side is browned. Transfer the meatballs to a slow cooker.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, blend together ketchup, brown sugar, port wine, and the remaining 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce until fully dissolved, approximately 2 minutes.
  • Cover meatballs in slow cooker with delicious sauce. Cook on High until meatballs are fully cooked and sauce thickens, at least 1 hour. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure meatballs reach 160°F (71°C) in the center.
